ANNUAL YOUTH EVENTS: |

Discovery Camp in Texas is a great experience for everyone in the youth group including the leaders. It is a time to grow closer as a group and have a very real experience with God. Often the youth will talk about how excited they are to go back to Discovery Camp -- it is one of their favorite events! Each year the youth participate in tug-of-war and volleyball tournaments. Camp also has amazing worship, great dramas, and heart-felt messages from various speakers. All the youth are invited to come and share in this exciting experience. |

Initiation is a youth group tradition. Every year the up and coming seventh graders are rounded up and "initiated" into the youth group--the whole youth group gets involved and the new seventh graders look forward to it! It is an all night event that starts with the youth playing outdoor games and eating at a campsite. Then they go and surprise the new seventh graders late at night. The rest of the night is spent playing games, sitting around a camp fire and trying to get a little sleep in. The next moring at about seven everyone gets up and goes out to breakfast. After that thay clean up the camp site and head home (hopefully to get some sleep.) |

The youth group takes a trip up to the BWCAW (Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness) every summer. It is not a trip for the faint at heart. The youth are challenged every day with new experiences such as no running water, no electricity and no cell phone reception--this is truly outdoors. The youth cook over open fires, learn to canoe, go swimming, and each of them get the chance to teach the other campers about God. All of the trip leaders have experience in BWCAW Camping and know how to remain safe as well as how to teach the youth how to "rough it." It's a great opportunity to spend time with God and to get back to nature.

Aquire the Fire is an event that is held at the Target Center every year. It is a huge event with many speakers, great dramas, amazing bands, and some of the best worship around. Everyone is encouraged to come and experience God in a whole new way. |
